Beemok Hospitality Group Reveals Investment Plans for The Charleston Place – Hospitality Net – Hospitality Net

Beemok Hospitality Group, a Charleston, SC-based company with a growing portfolio of world-class hotels, restaurants and entertainment venues, today announces its investment plans for The Charleston Place, the company’s flagship asset. A landmark in Charleston’s historic district, The Charleston Place will officially transition from Charleston Place, a Belmond Hotel, to The Charleston Place, a locally owned and managed independent luxury hotel, on March 1, 2022.

The Charleston Place has hired renowned architects and designers to lead the transformation, including Pierre-Yves Rochon (PYR), a legendary luxury interior design firm with offices in Paris and Chicago, whose portfolio includes iconic hotels like the Four Seasons George V in Paris and the Waldorf Astoria in New York and Beverly Hills; Cooper Carry, an architecture firm headquartered in Atlanta whose notable projects include The Sanctuary at Kiawah Island and the Washington D.C. Marriott Marquis; the Charleston office of LS3P, a multi-disciplinary firm with expertise in historic preservation, having worked on local projects including The Spectator Hotel and The Vendue; and Rees Roberts + Partners, an interior and landscape design firm based in New York with residential and hospitality experience spanning the globe. Collectively, they will reimagine nearly all aspects of the hotel, including the lobby, courtyards, guest rooms and suites, spa/wellness center, restaurants and bars, retail, meeting and event spaces, and pool. The property expects to remain open during the multi-million-dollar renovation, which will be completed in phases with an estimated start in early-2023. Once complete, The Charleston Place will blend gracious Southern hospitality with European elegance to create an experience that inspires connection and celebrates both the everyday as well as special occasions. With a deep commitment to the community in which it serves, The Charleston Place aims to be the city’s living room and a source of hope, care and delight for guests and associates.

In the short-term, The Charleston Place will be introducing several changes and additions that enhance the experiences for guests, locals, and associates, from refreshed uniforms and back-of-house facilities to reinvented food and beverage offerings. Cortney Bishop Design, a renowned local interior design studio, is actively making improvements to revitalize the hotel’s lobby experience and foster a rebirth of ‘Charleston’s living room.’ Bishop studied inspiration from fine European hotels and strived to translate the property’s indisputable hospitality with a sense of warmth and richness translated through refined, inviting furnishings. Bishop has also been tasked with refreshing the Thoroughbred Club Lounge and Meeting at Market, the hotel’s upscale pub, to more align with the hotel’s elegant, approachable style.

The Charleston Place recently introduced a partnership with MOKE where guests can borrow the stylish electric open-air vehicles for jaunts around the city. Community Perk, the hotel’s artisan coffee shop, is also being reimagined with locally roasted coffee, tea, and house-made specialties along with breakfast, snacks, ice cream treats and locally sourced retail products. Following the success of the hotel’s holiday activations, guests and locals can expect to see additional new programming and installations including high teas, Sunday brunch, daily live music, historical tours, wellness offerings, and alliances with local organizations and businesses.
